Iraq receives Iranian request for extradition of 120 suspected terrorists: official
TEHRAN- The deputy head of the Judiciary for international affairs has submitted a list to the Iraqi government demanding the extradition of 120 terrorists to Iran.
According to Tasnim, Kazem Gharibabadi, during his visit to Alborz province and participation in the province’s judiciary council, emphasized that the extradition and trial of criminals are among the main priorities of the judicial system. He also stressed the importance of addressing legal issues related to Iranians abroad.
Gharibabadi further explained, “By the end of this year, files will be prepared for all terrorist groups, and their extradition will be requested from the respective foreign countries. The subsequent step involves the trial of these terrorists. In the case of members of the ISIS terrorist group and border-based Takfiri groups, both judicial and intelligence measures have been taken extensively to identify them. After their extradition, their crimes will be addressed.”
Over the past few decades, especially during the imposed war of the 1980s, terrorist groups have engaged in provocative activities against Iran’s border security with Iraq.
